The government of India issues certain identity cards to citizens on demand and some voluntarily; each has its own significance and utility. One Among such cards which are issued on demand is PAN CARD. The Permanent Account Number is a 10-digit alphanumeric number, issued by an Assessing Officer of the Income Tax Department-Ministry of Finance (Government of India).

12.Checklist before sending Acknowledgment Form to NSDL office are Acknowledgment Form (With color photo and Signed ),Xerox copy of Proof of identity,Xerox copy of Proof of address, Demand Draft (DD) of amount Rs 94/-
13.Cite the envelope with 'APPLICATION FOR PAN - Acknowledgment Number' (e.g. 'APPLICATION FOR PAN - 881010100000097').
