Finance minister Arun Jaitley recently launched Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) scheme to develop small businesses by giving Loans. MUDRA Loans it’s a mega credit drive under the MUDRA scheme by Punjab National Bank.

MUDRA Loans to Small businesses can take a loan up to Rs 50,000, and also Maximum Limit is up to Rs 10 lakh. MUDRA Loans to small businesses such as shopkeepers, fruit sellers, vegetable vendors, mechanics, barbers.

Without any collateral security banks ready to give loans Under MUDRA scheme up to `10 lakh for small businesses and self-employment.

Finance minister Arun Jaitley said under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana scheme to promote self employment and entrepreneurship, the government plans to disburse an ambitious Rs 1.22 lakh crore as loans to micro and small businesses by March 2016.

Under the aegis of Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, MUDRA has already created its initial products / schemes. The interventions have been named 'Shishu', 'Kishor' and 'Tarun' to signify the stage of growth / development and funding needs of the beneficiary micro unit / entrepreneur and also provide a reference point for the next phase of graduation / growth to look forward to :

• Shishu : covering loans upto 50,000/-
• Kishor : covering loans above 50,000/- and upto 5 lakh
• Tarun : covering loans above 5 lakh and upto 10 lakh

It would be ensured that at least 60% of the credit flows to Shishu Category Units and the balance to Kishor and Tarun Categories.
